Tunable nonlinear band gaps in a sandwich-like meta-plate

This paper aims to explore the working mechanism of sandwich-like meta-plates by periodically attaching nonlinear mass-beam-spring resonators for low-frequency wave attenuation. The MBS resonator consists a mass, cantilever beam, and spring provide negative stiffness in transverse vibration resonator; this is tunable changing parameters spring. Considering resonator, energy method applied obtain dispersion relation meta-plate, band-gap bounds related amplitude are derived analysis. For finite-sized meta-plate with fully free boundary condition subjected external excitations, its dynamic equation established Galerkin method. frequency response analysis carried out numerical simulation, range obtained good agreement that theoretical one. Results show present designing structural resonator. Furthermore, analyzing suppression it observed nonlinearity can widen attenuation meta-plate.

Nearly monodisperse alloyed (CuInS2)x(ZnS)1-x nanocrystals with cubic and hexagonal phases were successfully synthesized for the first time, and the band gaps of these alloyed nanocrystals can be tuned in the broad range of 1.5 to 3.7 eV by changing the ratio of CuInS2 to ZnS.
